The Frost Amphitheater is a venue with a long history of being a focal point of contemporary music at Stanford. With a new renovation of the outdoor venue nearing completion, Frost was ready to for its first brand identity in 90 years.
The result needed to capture the gesture of its place in culture through the years while avoiding dating to any one period. At the same time it was important to reference its unique outdoor setting in contrast to its more buttoned up sibling, the Bing Concert Hall.
